Precast Cill, Ground and Portal Units for John Street, Glasgow

Shay Murtagh Precast recently completed the manufacture and supply of precast units for the upgrading of underbridge 046/065 at John Street, Blantyre, Glasgow. Main contractor Carillion Plc contracted us to manufacture 2 no. Cill units, 2 no. Ground units and 3 no. Portal units for the bridge structure.
The most complex element of this project involved the incorporation of an overhanging walkway and parapet on one side of the bridge which also required a series of steps to be cast with the ground units. Following the casting of all units a trial erection was undertaken in Shay Murtagh Precast factory to ensure all elements successfully interlocked.
Logistics and transportation worked in conjunction with possession timelines for Carillion Plc and all elements were delivered to schedule.
As always it was a pleasure working with Stephen and all the Carillion team on another successful contract completion
