Carillion – Bowden View Bridge Piers (1014)

This project involved the manufacture of an A-frame central reinforced concrete pier to support a two span bridge deck. The frame was manufactured in three sections, namely an inverted top V-section and two lower legs which were then stitched together on site. The cross section dimensions of the units were 1500mm x 1600mm. The V-section weighed 60T and each of the lower units weighed 30T.  The assembled frame on site was 6.7m high and 17.1m wide.
