Folly’s Bridge

In September 2011 Shay Murtagh Precast manufactured and precast elements on behalf of Birse Rail for the renewal of Follys footbridge. The bridge assembly consisted of four solid reinforced box beams.

The beams were 390mm wide by 350mm deep and each weighed 3.7T. The beams had an overall length of 10.25m and the bridge had a clear span of 8.560m and the overall bridge width was 1.59m. The bridge formed a single span footbridge over a railway line.
