Concrete Retaining Walls for the Tyne Tunnel Project

Late last year Shay Murtagh Precast were awarded the manufacture and supply of over 550 concrete retaining walls by Bouygues Travaux Publics. These precast retaining walls would be required to be assembled on site as part of the escape passage on the northbound tunnel of the New Tyne Crossing project.

Visit by Local National School to see our Rainwater Harvesting System

Shay Murtagh Precast always like to be involved with local projects. Our local primary school in Raharney visited the plant in late January. As part of their ongoing ‘Green Flag’ retention, they visited the plant to gain knowledge on the Rainman – Rainwater Harvesting System which we supplied to the school.

Concrete Retaining Wall for Vicarage Road

Shay Murtagh Precast recently manufactured and supplied a concrete retaining wall and wing wall units to Vicarage Road on behalf of Birse Rail. Shay Murtagh Precast also had design responsibility for these units. The stability checks, particularly sliding were the main design criteria. It was established early on that the use of reinforcement dowels through the wall
