The bridge assembly consisted of two internal pre-stressed box beams and two outer pre- stressed edge bridge beams incorporating 1000mm high reinforced concrete parapets.
The internal beams were 970mm wide by 500mm deep and weighed 13.7T. The external beams had a total weight of 27.4T and had overall dimensions of 1215mm wide by 1500mm high.

The River Lostock Bridge was installed by Birse Rail utilising Balfour Beatty’s Kirow 1200 Rail Crane over weekend of 19th March.
