Shay Murtagh Precast has a long standing working relationship with Birse Rail. Sandhills Lane in Liverpool is a project where as part of a 2011 Christmas possession Birse Rail contracted us to manufacture precast elements for the replacement of an existing steel deck bridge. Shay Murtagh Precast were contacted to provide the precast elements required.

Following our successful completion of the Peat Stores in 2010 Shay Murtagh Precast were contracted by Roadbridge again to manufacture and deliver U-channel and cover slab units to the ‘Laggan-Tormore Development Project’ in the Shetland Islands.

In September 2011 Shay Murtagh Precast manufactured and precast elements on behalf of Birse Rail for the renewal of Follys footbridge. The bridge assembly consisted of four solid reinforced box bridge beams.

Shay Murtagh Precast were awarded the contract to manufacture and deliver precast hex panels for reinforced earth walls in the Shetland Islands. The panels were 150mm thick and each weighed 0.9T. The retaining walls were constructed in two tiers with heights varying between 6 and 9m.The project was completed in two phases and 9000 panels
