This project will see the construction of two tunnel’s with a total length of around 5.5 kilometers in southeast London and part of which runs under the river Thames.
A Joint Venture
The joint venture is constructing two tunnels and portal structures from Plumstead to North Woolwich with a total length of around eight kilometres in southeast London.
This £200 million contract is part of the Crossrail project which will link the East and West London rail routes.
The Preferred Manufacturer for Tunnel Segments
HMJV have awarded the key contract for manufacture of the precast concrete tunnel segments to Shay Murtagh Precast. The company will produce almost thirty thousand precast concrete tunnel segments under strict quality assurance guidelines and will deliver these segments to the HMJV site in East London.
Shay Murtagh Precast delivered on two key milestones for the contract recently with the construction of the first trial ring build at our factory in Raharney, County Westmeath and also with the commencement of full tunnel segment production. The company was delighted to have the Contract Team from HMJV and Crossrail at our factory recently the important contract milestone for trial ring assembly (as per photo below).
