The Mullingar Sewerage Improvement Works is currently underway which has a total expenditure of €36 million (approx). The works are broken up into two contracts, the first contract awarded to Veolia Water Ireland for the design and build element of the DBO contract and is valued at €24,9m. The construction period is two years, with a completion date 3rd quarter 2010. Veolia awarded the civils contract to BAM Ltd to which Shay Murtagh Precast. tendered and were awarded the large number of tanks required. Singularly this is one of the largest contracts we have completed. We supplied all the readymix concrete required for these large bases from our factory and on two of the large pours we brought in a number of outside local hauliers. With one singular pour being 1200m³ all three mixing plants were required and our transport and maintenance teams facilitated a smooth delivery of concrete on the day.
