We paid a visit to the Sligo IT Engineering Expo
Shay Murtagh Precast recently had the pleasure of taking part in the Sligo IT Engineering Expo. The Expo took place on the 5th May. It was a valuable opportunity for engineering students to network with alumni and professional engineers, and to interact with some of the Shay Murtagh Precast team.
A great opportunity for everyone
Our team enjoyed meeting the next generation of our industry, so it was a beneficial experience for us as well as the students. We were delighted to have the opportunity to showcase to students, how engineering plays a part within our company. Olvan, a member of our Bespoke Precast Team addressed the crowd about his career: what he does on a daily basis, how he got there, why he loves his job, and why he would encourage anyone to work in the precast sector.
A great honour
We also had the great honour of having Shay Murtagh Managing Director, Ciaran Murtagh, a former Sligo IT student, on the judging panel for the Best Civil/Environmental Student Projects. He was given a warm warm welcome from his former lecturers and spent a great deal of time discussing the projects with the students. Ciaran was pleased to be able to offer them advice as a former student, and as an industry leader.
We would like to thank Sligo IT for this superb opportunity to meet the newest wave of upcoming engineers and look forward to next years event.
