This is a project completed by Bam Nuttall where they contracted Shay Murtagh Precast to manufacture concrete units to replace the existing structure.
The original bridge had inadequate height for new overhead railway lines to power electric trains. This is part of the Railway Upgrade Plan by Network Rail, who plan to improve journey time, transport efficiency, passenger capacity and deliver a more environmentally friendly form of transportation.
Shay Murtagh Precast manufactured and delivered precast concrete in forms of, Approach Parapets, Abutment Units (L-walls) and Bridge Deck Slabs to create Rogiets bridge.
It was then assembled on trial at our base in Raharney where all checks were complete, it was then dismantled and transported. Weighing a combined weight of over 150 tonnes, all products were delivered by way of 35 artic loads. Eight of these loads required heavy duty trailers due to large dimensions. A great project and thank you to great working team for such positive collaboration on same.Gillian is the Marketing Director for Shay Murtagh Precast. The company's problem solving capacities allow us to give off site solutions to once insitu contracts which in turn speeds up project completion.
