Introduction
Shay Murtagh Precast recently manufactured and supplied a bespoke precast headwall installation in Glasgow installed by P&S Civils/Cleantech as part of the Shawfield Masterplan Scheme.
Background
The National Business District built over the next 20 years and involves creation of some 350k sq/m of commercial space. The riverfront land will benefit from connectivity to the M74 and a new pedestrian footbridge linking Dalmarnock to Rutherglen. Within the project significant works completing on drainage and infrastructure.
About this Project
Shawfield is a priority project within the approved Clyde Gateway Business Plan and 2013- 2016 Operating Plan1 . The project aims, with appropriate support, to be a nationally significant business district in Scotland. Shawfield forms part of wider development initiative, Clyde Gateway.
The 11ha masterplan for this initial phase developed from an intensive review of the 64ha strategic masterplan for the wider area. To create a robust framework for delivering a Business District of national significance at Shawfield. The wider site developing through four distinct delivery phases over the course of the next 11-15 years.

Our Contribution
This bespoke precast headwall installation was 15m long x 5.5m wide and measured over 9m in height when installed and was assembled through 15 separate pieces of precast. The spillway unit had 84 baffles cast in total. We are consistently pushing the boundaries of precast and are proud to exhibit this piece of work ffrom our bespoke portfolio.
