London Power Tunnels Wins Project of the Year

Delighted to announce that our valued client, Hochtief Murphy JV, has been awarded Utility Project of the Year at the 2024 British Construction Industry Awards held in London on the 9th of October. This prestigious recognition comes from their work on the South London Power Tunnels (LPT) Phase 2 project. Shay Murtagh Precast is proud to have been part of this achievement, providing the precast tunnel segments for the entirety of the 32.5 km tunnel, ensuring high-quality materials for such an ambitious and impactful infrastructure project.

The LPT Phase 2 project, carried out by National Grid in partnership with Hochtief Murphy JV, exemplifies excellence in modern construction. Operating under the ICE’s Project 13 Enterprise philosophy, this initiative is transforming South London’s power grid by replacing outdated assets to meet the city’s growing electricity needs.
