Our problem-solving approach and depth of knowledge provides a value engineered answer to challenges of every size and complexity.
Sustainability is not a new concept in our business. We have actively focused on our role in ensuring a sustainable future for all and were the first concrete company to achieve ISO14001 in 2001. We identify as a leader in innovation, committed to pioneering sustainable technologies and practices.
We take this position seriously and understand that more needs to be done, that we, as a company and a community, need to go further. We aspire to demonstrate leadership and best practice in the environmental and social arenas within the construction industry.
Our sustainability strategy establishes our ambitions for the coming years, providing a structure to power purposeful action and value creation. The strategy is anchored by four pillars, supported by targets to demonstrate how sustainability is integrated into all parts of our business. Data-driven metrics, tracked at senior management level through our Sustainability Council, measure our progress toward each goal.
Our targets and associated KPIs have been developed taking account of the prioritisation by stakeholders at topic level and in alignment with industry best practice frameworks and initiatives such as The UN Sustainable Development Goals, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), SASB Standards, Science Based Targets, and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
Building a more responsible and community-focused business and supply chain brings huge value to our clients and wider society. It helps to maximise environmental and social well-being at every level and promotes a more sustainable future.
That’s why championing social value and addressing our carbon footprint are core commitments for our business and have been reflected in the four pillars that lie at the heart of our new sustainability strategy.
By investing in our people’s well-being and development, we will strengthen our culture and reflect our values in the projects we deliver at a local, national, and international scale. When we think of “value”, often we may only consider commercial aspects or metrics, including costs. Our Strategy Pillars reflect the areas of our business where we believe we can redesign what value should mean, for the environment, our clients, our employees, and our community.
Shay Murtagh Precast is committed to making these “values” synonymous with our business. Our strategy is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, so that we know we are prioritising action that is contributing to a global solution and roadmap for a better future.
