Vivienne Murtagh the Shay Murtagh Precast Health and Safety Manager as part of the Mullingar Riding Club Team took first prize in the Association of Riding Clubs All Ireland Show Jumping Final in August last at the RDS Dublin Horse show.
The Team Siobhan Pringle (FW Jasper),Alison Mortel (BBB Bossy Boots),Aphra Leavy (Kildallon) and Vivienne Murtagh (Petite Que) were one of the coveted nine teams who Qualified for the Final at the RDS.
Each team member jumps two rounds. At the second round the Teams jump in order of merit with the team with the most faults jumping first and the team with least faults (Mullingar) going last. Aphra & Vivienne had just the one pole down while Siobhan went clear. At this stage the competition was very tight with the nearest rivals finishing on 8 faults, leaving it up to Alison to jump clear to give Mullingar the win. Alison held her nerve and jumped a fantastic clear round giving Mullingar an outright win.
Vivienne brought in her trophy and we wish her and her team mates continued equestrian success for 2013.
